Introducing West District

I created West District because I’ve always felt like certain things in our culture don’t get talked about enough. There are albums, songs, videos, and even whole eras that shaped us—but somehow got lost in the shuffle. I wanted a space to talk about those moments, the ones that made me fall in love with art, creativity, and storytelling in the first place.

Growing up, things like magazines and newspapers were part of everyday life. You’d walk into a store and see a cover that actually meant something. Over time, though, all that started fading. Maybe it’s just the algorithm, but I feel like those things aren’t as present as they used to be. For a while, I even thought, “Who still reads blogs?”

But once I stepped outside my own world—started seeing what other people were tuned into—I realized something. There’s still an audience for this. People still care about depth, stories, nostalgia, and culture. They just weren’t showing up on my feed. And that was kind of beautiful to me.

That’s when the idea really clicked.

I always liked the concept of a podcast—just sitting down, talking, letting it flow—but writing feels more personal to me. When I write, it’s my words exactly how they come out. It’s slower, intentional, and real. Every post is me sitting down and translating what I feel into something you can read and connect with.

So yeah, West District is that space. A place where I can unpack thoughts, highlight art that deserves more love, and speak on what’s been sitting on my mind.
